Welcome to the Seniors Real Estate section of my website.
I
created this section to assist Seniors and their adult children with the unique needs our Elders have with real estate.
As a certified
Senior’s Real Estate
Specialist, (SRES) I am uniquely qualified to counsel senior property owners as well as their adult children.
The vast majority of seniors are homeowners. The American Association of Retired Persons (AARP) estimates that 83% of the seniors own their own homes. Seniors need someone who can advise them with strategies that can maximize their equity.

“Derrick I want to thank you so much for helping me sell our family home. My wife and I raised our family in this house we and spent many happy years here. You and Ann were kind and patient in helping me understand the process. I always felt in control and your vast knowledge about listing and selling homes was very comforting.
I also want to thank a member of your staff Ann Logsdon who personally drove me to escrow twice in order to sign some escrow papers since I can no longer drive. You have a wonderful team that is very “Senior Friendly” and I will highly recommend you to my friends and neighbors when they need to sell their homes.”

There are a lot of factors that must be considered when assisting a Senior with real estate. Some examples:
Tax Issues
– I can suggest tax issues that should be discussed with a senior’s tax advisor. If the senior doesn’t have a good tax advisor, I can make several recommendations for good tax advise.
Estate Planning – Many times a Senior may or may not have their estate planning in order. I
work closely with the senior’s estate planning professional or I can

recommend several good ones if the Senior needs one.
Adult Children – Many times an adult child of the senior is heavily involved with helping to sell
a piece of real estate. I have worked closely with many adult children who are coordinating the process. We work hand in hand to make sure that the parent is taken care of properly.
Repairs, Furniture
Removal,
etc. – There are many other ways I can assist Seniors and their family. Many times the Senior needs to have repairs and maintenance done prior to the sale. Sometimes the Senior needs help with furniture removal, rubbish removal, or donating items to
the Goodwill or the Salvation Army. Perhaps hiring an estate sale professional is appropriate to
sell entire lots of furniture. Whatever the case may be, you can be sure that I will assist you with
the sale or disposal of the senior’s household items if it is appropriate for the senior.
If you are a senior citizen or an adult child of a senior, please call me for a private consultation or
use the
EZ Seller’s form
to email me your request. I know you’ll find me to be a thoroughly and caring professional. Thank you.
